Jennie,
Congrats of completing the Dinky Double. I guess you were only about a half hour or less behind Pam Downs and I at the end. I completed my goal. I stopped for swims in both Shaver Lake and Huntington Lake, got wet in creeks at 2 other places, and then also sat in the wading pool at Millerton Reststop, for a total of 5 water breaks. I also rode with Pam and Deb Lefferts for most of the way.
My stats were 156 miles, 13.1 mph, 5:32 start, 7:52 finish

Congrats Donny! We were definitely lucky with Saturday's weather! And by the time we came back down into Auberry, we had missed the usual late-afternoon heat wave...that was nice (although that final 35-mile stretch was still a long one, as usual). We started at 5:35 (per my watch) and finished at 8:07. Glad that we came in before dark (although we had dropped lights at Shaver Lake, just in case).
If they decide to Dinkey again, they should make some adjustments - I'm going to send these suggestions to the ride coordinator:
Good to see ya'll at dinner Friday night - and glad that everyone at the table had a successful ride!

Jennie,
No pin! no patch! Why did we even bother to do this ride? At least we got some nice socks. Pam was complaining about no pin at the top of Kaiser also.
I heard from the Fresno club president about a month ago that the double century was supposed to be a one-time-deal and that they weren't planning on doing it again. But I agree with your list of suggestions.
I was in the pool/hottub from 7:30 till 8:00 on Sunday morning, then headed on home after that. Pam passed me along the way, but I didn't see her until she had already passed, as I was busy eatting some more of those little chocolate covered doughnuts.
