Saturday was such a perfect day for me, thanks especially to Megan, Christine, and Cora. It turned out that everyone was happy to spend a full 2 hours at the beach, so that was great. I was worried that some might be in a hurry and we'd end up cutting our stop short, so I'm glad that didn't happen. The only bad part of the day was finally having to say goodbye.
Here is a picture, taken at
Manresa Beach on my ride. Cora is the one with
the hat. The others are Drew, Christine, Scott, and Megan. This had
been my only ride so far with Cora. She fit right in from the very
beginning, and both Christine and Megan signed her up as the newest
Donnette. Cora was honored.
I had a busy day after I got home. I had just enough time to shower and clean up, but then Diana and I went over to her new shop to work for a few hours on getting some shelving put in. We worked there until about 10:00 PM, then it was off to an African party where we stayed until almost 4 AM.
I finally got to bed a 4:22 AM, and then slept very good until 7:04 AM when I woke and got up to get ready for Sunday's ride and party at Peggy's house. I really didn't feel tired all day Sunday.
We had 27 people for Peggy's ride. Both Drew and Scott from Saturday's ride were there too. Even though Peggy, Lisa, and Kim were all there, I didn't ride with them much as they were in the faster groups. I ended up spending most of my time with Theresa, and together we were watching the back end of the ride, and riding with Robin Ross, Nancy Ross, and Heather Lashbrook. We were all the last ones to leave the top of Henry Coe, and so I mentioned how bummed I was to be stuck at the back with just me and 4 women. None of them believed me.
Theresa and I were the last ones to get back to Peggy's, as Theresa wanted to do the full route including Croy. So it was 3:00 PM for us to get to the party and then I stayed until 7:30 PM.
I finally got home at 8:00, and Diana got home at 8:01, so it was perfect timing for me. I managed to get great rides in for both Saturday and Sunday without Diana getting mad at me.
