After you guys took off, and after Ben helped fix the flat, it was me, Ben, Theresa, Heather, and Nancy. We had a good ride, finishing at about 7:10, so not too far behind.

Theresa, Heather, and Nancy, all independantly showed up for the Mauler. None of them knew each other beforehand. Theresa was fastest (20 minute Metcalf), but Heather and Nancy were not far behind. At the end of the ride they all exchanged names and phone numbers to get together for future rides.

Did you guys see any of the wild life yesterday? This is what we all saw:

• 9 tule elk - just before we dropped down off from the motorcycle park, I noticed the herd coming over the ridge.
• 1 tarantula - near the houses on Metcalf
• 5 pigs - on San Felipe before the climb to the eucalyptus grove.
• 1 deer - on the San Felipe downhill
• 5 turkeys - just before the first of the new houses on San Felipe.

How about the SCV downhill? I got my fastest speed of 53.0 mph. Ben got 50.5 mph. The women were slower, as it was first time down. Did people get best times also?

My favorite animal sighting was ... human ... when Karl was megacruising on the back of Metcalf and yelled ahead for me to hop on ... :-)

We saw one tarantula near where you did.

I got myself boxed in on the back of SCV and had to brake ... but even though it wasn't a good effort I still got 52mph. I think that's a tie with my fastest. Dave's time was the fastest I heard at 56 point something. Lots of other fast times.
