Day 1 - Wednesday June 12 - San Jose to Patterson

We plan to leave at 7:00 AM, from Don's house (4637 Holycon Circle, near Branham and Snell). It is best if you can ride your bikes to the start, or get dropped off. You could drop your tour bag off a day or two before. If you need to leave a car, there is space on his street.

New this year we stay off of Capitol Expwy (traffic / construction) and take White Rd to Alum Rock Ave, then join Mt Hamilton Rd to go up over the top of Mt.Hamilton, then drop down the backside. We cruise down Del Puerto Canyon to Patterson. ETA is 3:00 PM. We are staying at the Villa Lago Inn. Make your own motel reservations (see Reservations page). Check-in time is 3:00 PM. If you do arrive sooner, then it is possible to hang out at the pool until your room is ready.

The day's ride is split into 6 sections, with a SAG stop between each section. SAG driving assignments will be figured out in the morning, before anyone can begin riding. Usually there are enough volunteers to drive, and some riders might be able to do the whole tour without driving.

The SAGs will have water, sodas, oranges, cookies, chips, bread peanut butter and jelly, etc. Lunch today will be making a sandwich at the SAG stops. Sorry, the Junction Cafe is closed on Thursdays.

Dinner in Patterson is at any of the restaurants nearby. Friday morning's breakfast is at the motel.

Day 2 - Thursday June 13 - Patterson to Lake Camanche South Shore

We plan to leave at 7:30 from the parking lot. Today's ride is mostly flat, at least for the first 50 miles. After that we turn to the north and ride into new territory.

Again today, the ride is split up into 6 sections, with SAG stops in between. Stops 2 and 3 will be at stores with a chance to buy something. The others will be eating snacks and making sandwiches from the SAG stop.

We plan to stay at Sugarloaf Campround at Lake Camanche South Shore. Don has secured two campsites (Sugarloaf #092, 093). Restroom and showers is directly across the road. Dinner and breakfast will be in camp.

Unlike the rules at Pardee, lake swimming is allowed in Lake Camanche. And our campsites are just a stones throw away.

Day 3 - Friday June 14 - at Lake Camanche South Shore

Don't bother packing away your tent this morning as today is a loop ride to Jackson and then back to Lake Camanche for a second night. Today's ride is 43 miles long, split into 3 sections, with one SAG Stop in Paloma and a second stop next to the museum in Jackson. Today's route also includes 6 miles of one-lane roadway , first going downhill on Gwin Mine Road, to go across the back end of Pardee Reservoir, and then climbing up the other side on Middle Bar Road. After Jackson we take scenic Stony Creek Road with over 2000 feet of downhill, go past the front end of Pardee Reservoir, and then back to camp.

Day 4 - Saturday June 15 - Lake Camanche to Coloma

We plan to leave at 8:00 from camp.

Today's ride is shorter, so there are only 4 riding sections with 3 SAG stops. Stop 1 is at Star Donuts in Ione. A lot of the route today is on old S2S roads during the ride from Jackson to Folsom. We had one of our first swimming holes under the bridge at the Consumes River, which just happens to be where SAG stop #2 is today.

ETA today is about 1:00, so shortly after the S2S buses have arrived. Those people not on the S2S tour would drive home that afternoon.
