Sept 6Bishop Exploring Start with a trip to the Visitor Center just across the street from the Creekside Inn.

Next up, go visit the Laws Railroad Museum. Free admission (by donation only).
From US 395 in Bishop, take US 6 north After 4.5 miles turn right on Silver Canyon Road.

Next up, go hiking/bouldering at Happy Boulders.
From US 395 in Bishop, take US 6 north. After 1.3 miles, turn left on Five Bridges Rd. Follow this down the straightaway around the left-hand curve, past the Aggregate Plant to a 4-way intersection where the pavement turns to dirt. Take a left on Chalk Bluff Rd. Follow for 2.3 miles and park on the left side of the road. The canyon can easily be seen to your right, up the hill.
Sept 9Treasure Lakes Trail From US Highway 395 in downtown Bishop, turn west on Line Street /Highway 168. Follow Line Street / Highway 168 for 15 miles and turn left on to South Lake Road. Follow South Lake Road for 7.1 miles to the trailhead, located at the end of the road. Overflow parking is located along the road near Parchers Camp, less than a mile from South Lake. The trailhead is at the south end of the trailhead parking lot, to the left of the bathrooms.

to 11200 ft at Upper Treasure Lake: 8.2 miles with 1380 ft of climbing (round trip)

Sept 12Sabrina Basin Trail From Highway 395 in downtown Bishop, turn west on Line Street / Highway 168 and drive 18 miles to Lake Sabrina. The day use parking is at the end of the road. From the parking area walk 0.3 miles back down the road to the trailhead, located on the east side of the road.

To 10400 ft at Blue Lake: 6.0 miles with 1350 ft of climbing (round trip)
To 10988 ft at Midnight Lake: 11.8 miles with 1938 ft of climbing (round trip)

Sept 15Cottonwood Pass Trail From US Highway 395 in Lone Pine, CA, turn west on Whitney Portal Road. Travel along the road for 3 miles and turn left (south) on Horseshoe Meadow Road. Follow the paved road for 19.6 miles, climbing a series of switchbacks to the end of the road at the Horseshoe Meadows parking area. The Cottonwood Pass trailhead is located at the west end of the parking area.

To 11140 ft at Cottonwood Pass: 7.4 miles with 1200 ft of climbing (round trip)
To 11242 ft at Chicken Spring Lake: 9.0 miles with 1302 ft of climbing (round trip)

Sept 17Alabama Hills Exploring The Mobius Arch is probably the most photographed formation in the area. The 20-minute Mobius Arch Loop trail leads through hilly terrain to this amazing formation. To find the trail, drive through Lone Pine on Highway 395 and turn west on the Whitney Portal Road (at the traffic light). Follow the road for 2.5 miles to Movie Road. Turn right and follow the road for 1.5 miles to a "Y" intersection. Bear right and pull into a dirt parking lot immediately on your left.
