Climb to Kaiser Campout
June 22 - 29, 2008

Location

We will stay at Shaver Lake, at the Dorabelle Campground. We stay in the tents-only section, consisting of 10 different campsites. Last year this section did not fill up. There is also an option to bring up an RV and stay in the RV section. Also, there are many possibilities for finding a place to stay in nearby Shaver Lake Heights.

There are no showers at Dorabelle Campground, so make sure you bring a solar shower. Swimming in Shaver lake is great. Even at 5400 ft elevation, the water temperature is perfect during the summer.

Camping

There is a limit of 6 people per campsite, and two cars, with the 2nd car being an extra vehicle.

If people can carpool up, then they can also arrange to share the same campsite. Otherwise, people will be expected to reserve their own campsite. This way, I will not be stuck with the responsibility and expense of trying to reserve the exact number of sites needed. I will only be reserving my own campsite.

Meals

Usually, we will cook our meals and eat in camp. Sometimes we might go out to dinner at one of the restaurants in Shaver Lake Heights. There is a small grocery store about a half mile from camp.
